I need to share a revolution with you. I have FINALLY manage to create a working selfbondage tool that’s working! This board has a simple design and it is absolutely escape proof.
The key to success is a “240V AC Magnetic Door Holder” (approx £30) that keeps me locked up until a timer cuts the power. I should not take full credit for the full idea. I actually got the main concept from www.boundanna.com (check out a Scenario called “Electronic Release”)
The basic concept
I Secure the board to my bedpost, wall or floor or.. I set the timer for an hour or so. Then I tie myself up real tight using standard rope. The positions are endless! ;) Next I secure one hand to the board with the latch (Using my free hand) and put my free hand in the other metal handle. Finally I push down the magnetic door holder with my head or any other free body part. I can actually hear the electromagnetic magnet when it secures itself to the metal plate screwed to the board.
The electromagnet is so strong that I can not open the handle until the power releases.

One serious technical reservation I have about your design though, you'll notice the "hook" on the back of my box is a plastic cable tie. I notice the screws which connect your metal locking cuff protrude inside the electro-magnet's plastic box. I hope you are using a "safety" circuit breaker, and have properly earthed these screws and insulated the metal parts (screw heads or nuts) inside the plastic casing (covering them with hard-setting bathroom plastic sealant comes to mind), otherwise if the mains wire were to come loose inside the box (through movement of the board for example), if by some chance it were to come into contact with the screw connecting your metal cuff electrocution could result!

Thnx for the feedback. And Yes! U are absolutely right. This could potentially be dangerous. I have already in my original design made some security measures. Such as circuit breaker etc.
I will take a look at this and stress this on my blog.

Hi HB, I saw your "Electronic stockss" on BoundAnna and it's a brilliant design!
I bought a magnetic door retainer - easy enough to put together - but I'm having trouble finding metal brackets in the UK to go with it.
I've found one company that sells pipe brackets (Nero Pipeline) but they are stainless steel (slightly expensive) and they are a little narrow. The company can make them to other sizes but I suspect that it would be expensive to have them made to a custom size.
I don't know if you're in the UK, but where did you find your brackets?
There is one other safety issue to be aware of with the stocks - it's very easy to accidently click the magnet shut without setting the timer first! But apart from that, I LOVE this idea :-D

Thanks for your great response! It's always appreciated. When it comes to the brackets.. I'm not from the UK, I reside in Scandinavia I picked up the brackets at a regular hardware store. not sure exactly what they are intended for? but they fit me very good.
I little word of warning..
My door retainer is powered with 220Vol AC. IF there's a short circuit somewhere it could be very dangerous since the retainer is directly mounted to the metal brackets. Always use this device with a "safety" circuit breaker!
Also I suggest setting the timer BEFORE doing anything else. I found it being the best solution to use a timer that works like an egg timer. I Simply start with putting the timer for something like 1 hour and wait for it to count down. I find that regular timers where you need to specify a certain time is to complicated and to easy to configure the wrong time when you are to excited ;)
